- New feature:  WMS Messenger now carries the Certified for Windows Vista designation.
- New feature:  An optional basic email system can now do much more than a quick message. Messages to users are saved and users can reply to messages.
- New feature: A wizard on the server can import users and groups from AD, enable the new messaging system, and choose how other WMS Messenger users appear in the user's list (logon name or display name).
- Enhanced: If the client is installed and a server is not specified, the user is prompted for the server name.
- Enhanced: The user logon options are stored for subsequent logons.
- Enhanced: Adding a user now adds to Everyone or Domain Users by default if they are listed.
- Fixed: Server would only allow five concurrent licenses, regardless how many licenses the software was registered with.

- New feature:  An integrated Unified Logon uses a person's current network logon name and security credentials to log into WMS Messenger; alternative logon names can also be used.
- New feature:  Incoming text can be read back if a text-to-speech engine is installed on the system (free from Microsoft).
- Enhanced: Added support for Windows Vista.
- Enhanced:  Added Ctrl+A and an Add All button to the Add Users dialog box.
- Enhanced:  Sending files and screenshots can be done within the chat session window.
- Enhanced:  When sending a file, the progress is shown in the originating chat window.

- Fixed:  On a new logon, the password change did not take place and subsequent logons failed until the service was restarted.

- Fixed:  Brining up two or more chat sessions on a client simultaneously would hang all of that client's chat sessions.

- New feature:  Totally rewritten client with new buddy list options, messaging window, and quick messaging.
- New feature:  Users can now send a single message to one or more logged on users without having to initiate a chat.
- New feature:  Added a toolbar in the messaging window to format text to send to users with bold, italic, underline, font, color, and emoticons.
- New feature:  Emoticons are now available to send to users.
